Neiwan (內灣) is in South-Eastern Hsinchu county's Hengshan township (橫山鄉) and next to Jianshi (尖石鄉) the beautiful Atayal (泰雅) area known for its mountains and rivers.
The Neiwan railway was constructed in 1944 by Japanese colonial government, but the construction was interrupted by WWII.
It was completed by the ROC government in 1951 to help the transport of lumber and lime.
It's now serving as a commuter train for the suburbs of Hsinchu as well as a destination for tourists.
Neiwan Scenic Area is encircled by tall hills and wound along Youluo River (油羅溪).

Since Taiwan is an island, there are many nice beaches. Taiwan's beaches are increasingly gaining the recognition they deserve.
Anyone can make a great day trip from cities. Those spots all offer a wide range of activities, as well as some great accommodations and dining.
The majority of Taiwan's popular beaches face the Pacific Ocean. They can be found along the east and south coast.
However, most of the beaches on west coast are rocky shores.
New Moon Beach (新月沙灣) is one of the few beaches which luckly located in the Hsinchu County.

The Hsinchu harbor (新竹漁港) was originally built in the 1980s for the conveniences of fishing.
However, due to the decreasing amount of fish load over the years, the old harbor was replaced by the new harbor buildings which are more tourism-focused.
Now it's famous with the name Nanliao Fishing Habor (南寮漁港) as one of the popular recreational areas in Hsinchu.
Activities that can be done around the harbor area are cycling, kite flying and dining seafood.
Nanliao Fishing Hobor is also the starting point of 17 km Coastline Scenic Area (17公里海岸線風景區), where you can also taste fresh seafood, enjoy the view of the harbor and fly kites.

Hakkaness culture (客家文化) has had a resurgence in recent years and a lot of effort has been made to preserve the language and educate people about one of Taiwan's largest ethnic minorities.
There are many 'Hakka Villages' all over Taiwan, but Beipu(北埔) is known as one of the most important and most successful in preserving the heritage of the Hakka people.
Beipu old street (北埔老街) is a well-known attraction in Hinshu with its Hakkaness culture atmosphere.
There are historic sites can be traced from 1835, including Ci-Tian Temple (慈天宮), Tianshuei Hall (天水堂) and the grade one cultural relic - Jinguangfu House (金廣福)
The streets and stores were surrounded by those historic buildings.

Lion's Head Mountain (獅頭山 Shitoushan) is one of the most underrated attractions in Taiwan.
Lion's Head Mountain is defined by its beautiful, dense forests and rugged rock faces.
There is a famous foothill, Lion's Mountain Trail 獅山古道, on the border of Miaoli(苗栗) and Hsinchu Counties.
Lion's Head Mountain features numerous temples and shrines, many of which are built into caves or cliff walls, and are connected by a network of hiking trails.
Therefore, natural spring water flows out from underneath the temples set in caves

Different from Taipei zoo, Green World Ecological Farm gives you a new experience to interact with wildlife.
Green World Ecological Farm is located in Beipu, Hsinchu. It is a large-scale farm combining the natural ecology of animals and plants with leisure and recreation.
It is a world-class farm featuring six theme parks:

In winter, soaking in a hot spring is the greatest indulgence. It's the ultimate way to release your stress.
There are many hot springs in Jianshi Township (尖石鄉). Among them, Huilai hot spring (會來溫泉) is the one with easiest access by transportation.
You can take the train to Neiwan station (內灣車站) and ask for a shuttle bus to pick you up from Huilai resort.
In the resort, there are many hot spring pools with different temperatures for you to choose from.

Mawudu Forest is a well-known sightseeing spot because of the Taiwanese TV show - Green Forest My Home (綠光森林).
Mawudu (馬武督) is located in Guanxi (關西) and is originated from indigenous people.
Tayal (泰雅), the local Indigenous tribe, names the place Ma'oto in their mother tongue long time ago.
Here, you'll enjoy the phytoncide and fresh air in this coniferous forest.

If you're a fan of Teddy Bear, you can't miss the One Bear Museum in Guanxi (關西)
The museum by far collects over 3,000 bears with difference size and style. It's the biggest Teddy Bear museum in Asia.
The moment entering the museum, a 3.5 meters tall musical spinning bear in the lobby will come into your view.
Surround by the huge bear on the first floor, you can see the bears dressd in differet traditional costume from all over the world.
Since the majority of residence in Guanxi is Hakkaness (客家人), there are also the bears dressed in the traditional Hakka costume.

Sinfong Mangrove (新豐紅樹林) is the wetland close to Hsinchu county.
With its dense mangrove and green tunnels, people can visit here in any seasons even in the hottest day of summer.
It just looks like Totoro’s mystical forest path scene.
If follow the wooden trails, you won't get lose and enjoy the views leisurely.
