
Sinfong Mangrove (新豐紅樹林) is the wetland close to Hsinchu county.
With its dense mangrove and green tunnels, people can visit here in any seasons even in the hottest day of summer.



It just looks like Totoro’s mystical forest path scene.






If follow the wooden trails, you won't get lose and enjoy the views leisurely.
Different from other wetlands in Taiwan, you can enjoy mud-free walk and always find a seat to take a rest any time.
Wetlands are the most prolific habitats on the planet.
It plays a key role in supporting the high biodiversity. For example,
Fiddler crabs are the most popular invertebrate that live in the wetland.
Kids will sometimes use a simple stick and string tie a piece of cooked shrimp to go crab fishing.
However, to sustain the ecosystem, remember to release them back to nature before you go home.



Sinfong Mangrove is located in delta of Sinfong Red Mao river and the Taiwan strait.
If you come here at nightfall, you may see the gorgeous sunset and the reflection in the river


At the entrance of Sinfong Mangrove, there stands a historical old temple - Chihho Temple (池和宮) which was established in 1776.
If it's your first time to visit Taiwan, you can't miss the Dragon Boat Festival here.




The Dragon Boat race will be hosted in the Chihho river. The place will be crowded with people on the special day.
Many local food stands sell Taiwanese street food in front of the temple.

Moreover, the toilets at Chihho Temple covers 545 meter square and cost NT$30 million to construct. The decorations inside are beautiful and interior design is thoughtful. In addition to child-sized toilets and a lactation room, the temperature of the water for hand-washing is adjusted according to the season.

The most convenient way to be here is by car. It take a half hours from Hinshu train station
